The John G. Neihardt State Historic Site is located at 306 W. Elm St., Bancroft, Nebraska 68004, off highways 51 & 16 in northeast Nebraska.

There is a large parking lot on the grounds, with handicap parking “above” the parking lot (follow the sign).

Accessibility

Handicap parking is available.

The grounds and building are wheelchair accessible. The historic study is not.

Kid-friendliness

The grounds of the Neihardt State Historic Site are a wonderful place for children to learn, explore, and be active. We ask that children not be allowed to climb on the Great Vision statue because of the risk of injury, but otherwise, we encourage them to run and enjoy the space.

The Visitor Center and Museum is also a welcoming place for children. At this time items are in display cases, but we are working to add hands-on activities for children.

Pet-friendliness

Dogs are not allowed inside the building; however, leashed dogs are allowed on the grounds.
