Lakota Oral Tradition in "Black Elk Speaks"

Dr. Delphine Red Shirt will deliver a presentation on "Lakota Oral Tradition in Black Elk Speaks," on Sunday, October 17, 2-4 p.m., at the Neihardt Center. A member of the Oglala Lakota Tribe who grew up near the Pine Ridge reservation, she has been a visiting lecturer at Yale University, Connecticut College, and Wayne State University. She is currently a lecturer in Decolonized History and the Lakota language at Stanford University. Dr. Red Shirt will have several of her books for sale.

The event is free. Face masks are required.

Note that the presentation originally planned for Oct. 17 , Sheryl Schmeckpeper, will be rescheduled.
